Restaurateur Benito (Vesel Kadrija) is the very first generation from his own town from Kosovo to land in New Jersey. He arrived in November of 1996 and started working the next day at Aquilla Restaurant in New Providence, NJ as a busser then worked his way up.
Exactly two years and three days after his arrival into the US he became a part owner of Toscana Trattoria. Three years later, he became the only owner of Toscana Trattoria and trasformed the place into Benito’s Trattoria in Chester, NJ which remains with same name to this day and was a very successful restaurant in his prime time (he is no longer the owner now). Also on his resume, Benito owned Ponte Vecchio in the Best Western Hotel in New Providence and managed several other places in the region.
In 2014 Benito partnered up with his first mentor from Aquilla, Afrim Berisha to open up the second location of Bistro Seven Three, in New Providence and established a great BYOB spot. Then, two years after it’s grand opening, Bistro Seven Three NP changed it’s name to Providence Bar & Kitchen and became the very first bar in the town of New Providence after over 127 years of being a dry town.
